PROGRAMME
9.30 - 9.55 REGISTRATION & COFFEE

9.55 - 10.00 INTRODUCTION

10.00 - 10.10 OPEN BIM
OPEN BIM is a universal approach to the collaborative design, realisation and operation of buildings based on open standards and workflows, allowing each stakeholder to use their choice of tools, exchanging data throughout the design process.

10.10 - 10.30 WORKING AS A TEAM
Teamwork provides a platform for collaboration on projects within the office and through the Internet. Multiple team members efficiently work on a single model, dramatically reducing the amount of data being transferred.

10.30 - 11.00 DESCRIBE IT, CHECK IT, ASSURE IT
The Federated Model ensures that each discipline is responsible for the creation, development and change management of their model. Analysing these models with rule based checking can identify potential errors at the design stage, and assure conformance to BIM standards.

11.00 - 11.15 PRESENTING YOUR IDEAS ON THE MOVE
BIM Explorer for iOS and Android is an innovative, interactive, communication tool for building design professionals setting new standards for design communication and presentation in the AEC industry.

11.15 - 11.50 STUDIO STORIES
As architects there are obvious benefits to using BIM, but the real benefits in the workflow process are to the client. A local studio will discuss their use of BIM in practice, illustrating their experiences with case study projects.

11.50 - 12:00 BIM IMPLEMENTATION
A brief explanation of the route to BIM, challenges you will face and opportunities including pilot projects prior to full implementation, or team by team implementation.

12.00 - 12:15 OPEN BIM: Q&A SESSION
